Brad Whitaker’s (Joe Don Baker’s) villa in Tangier was initially a lavish palace where he stored samples of the arms that he is dealing.

However, after the filmmakers secured entrepreneur, Malcolm Forbes’s Palais El Mendoub for filming, they discovered that he had been housing his massive collection of lead soldiers there since 1978. This led to Whitaker sharing Forbes’s passion, storing his arms underneath the display cases containing his own vast collection of lead soldiers.

Just as Double-0 Seven discovers Whitaker re-staging famous battles in the manner in which he would have fought them, dioramas of well-known conflicts still occupy the mansion, accompanied by light and sound displays, even though Forbes passed away in 1990.

I started writing for WhatCulture in July 2020. I have always enjoyed reading and writing. I have contributed to several short story competitions and I have occasionally been fortunate enough to have my work published. During the COVID-19 lockdown, I also started reviewing films on my Facebook page. Numerous friends and contacts suggested that I should start my own website for reviewing films, but I wanted something a bit more diverse - and so here I am! My interests focus on film and television mainly, but I also occasionally produce articles that venture into other areas as well. In particular, I am a fan of the under appreciated sequel (of which there are many), but I also like the classics and the mainstream too.
