2. Steven Yeun's Red Hat Was A Gift From His Mother As A Teenager - Minari

One of the most interesting visual signifiers in Minari is the red cap worn by Jacob Yi (Best Actor nominee Steven Yeun) throughout the drama, which some commentators assumed to be a thumbing of the nose at the MAGA crowd.

But in actual fact, the red hat wasn't a pointed prop rustled up by the wardrobe department, but an item belonging to Yuen himself, given to him by his mother when he was just 17 years of age.

Considering the deeply autobiographical content of the story for filmmaker Lee Isaac Chung, it's neat that Yeun was also ably to slyly include a piece of his own personal history front-and-center.

But before we move onto our #1 entry, MAJOR SPOILERS will follow for Promising Young Woman if you haven't seen it yet.
