12. Whitney Houston Refused To License Her Songs For The Film

Before American Psycho started shooting, pop icon Whitney Houston was approached for her version of the song "The Greatest Love of All" to be used in the film, but she ultimately ended up refusing, resulting in an instrumental cover version being used in the movie instead.

It's never been substantiated precisely why Houston objected to her song being used, but given the infamy of Ellis' book, it's not difficult to read between the lines and take a solid guess.
