5. Scarecrow€™s Costume Was Designed To Look Ungainly

scarecrow1 Although initially looking for a slightly older actor, Nolan was impressed enough by Irish actor Cillian Murphy€™s Batman audition that he ended up casting him as Jonathan Crane, a.k.a. the Scarecrow. According to The Art and Making of the Dark Knight Trilogy, Murphy€™s suits were designed so that the buttons of his jacket would be slightly off, his sleeves would be a little too short and his shoulders would be too small, making his arms and head appear oversize€ a little bit like a Scarecrow.
