20 Things You Didn't Know About Clueless

In one of the film's very first scenes, Cher demonstrates that she doesn't know to pronounce the word "Haitians" while speaking in class. This wasn't actually part of the movie's script, but rather an unintentional ad-lib by Alicia Silverstone.

Silverstone, who was herself only 18 years old at the time of shooting, genuinely didn't know how to pronounce the word properly, and upon realising this, Amy Heckerling instructed the crew not to correct her.

And so, a small but memorable movie moment was born. Further still, Cher's entire speech where she compares Haitian immigrants to uninvited guests at her father's birthday party was originally supposed to go on for an extra minute, yet was ultimately cut down for time.
