4. Refn Auditioned Porn Stars To Play Blanche
Christina Hendricks makes a brief but memorable appearance in the film as Blanche, an associate of Albanian gangster Chris Cook (James Biberi) who gets her brains splattered across a motel wall with a shotgun.
Despite her obvious acting chops Hendricks wasn't Refn's go-to pick for the part, however, and before deciding on her the director even auditioned a number of porn actresses to play Blanche.
Ultimately Refn decided that none of them had the necessary acting skills to pull the role off, and so agreed to meet with more traditional actresses, including of course Hendricks herself. The rest, as they say, is history.
