Gone Girl Rosamund Pike
Fox

Despite Gone Girl appearing to require virtually no visual effects whatsoever, the film actually contains a jaw-dropping 600 VFX shots from start to finish.

Fincher's films have a knack for sneaking subtle CGI tweaks and touch-ups that the audience is never even aware of, and Gone Girl is clearly no different.

As made clear by the below effects breakdown, Fincher extensively used green-screen compositing for windows and facades which could be replaced digitally with whatever he desired.

The results, from simple window replacements to more complex set extensions, are all totally seamless, and you'd be hard-pressed to find anyone who actually noticed them.
