From director Alfonso Cuaron, Gravity was another stunning space movie released in close-ish proximity to Interstellar, hitting cinemas the previous year.

But because Nolan was working on Interstellar when Gravity first came out, he actually decided not to see it, reasoning that it was a bad idea to watch a similar movie while he was toiling away on his own:

"I can't watch another great sci-fi film while I'm trying to do my own thing... to me, I'm still making this film, and getting it out there is the last stage."

He did also say that he was looking forward to seeing Gravity in a month or two, so it's safe to assume he's checked it out by now.

Danny has been with WhatCulture for almost nine years, and is currently Doctor Who Editor and WhoCulture Channel Manager, overseeing all of WhatCulture's Whoniverse coverage. He has been writing and video editing for 10+ years, and first got a taste for content creation after making his own Doctor Who trailers and uploading them to YouTube (they're admittedly a bit rusty by today's standards). If you need someone to recite every Doctor Who episode in order or to tell you about the making of 1988's Remembrance of the Daleks, Danny is the person to ask.
