20 Things You Didn't Know About JFK

19. Yes, That IS Jim Garrison

Jfk Movie
Warner Bros. Pictures

Kevin Costner plays New Orleans District Attorney Jim Garrison, who launched an investigation and eventually a trial against effete socialite Clay Shaw (Tommy Lee Jones) for conspiring in the murder of the president. Garrison was a bit of a showboat, as evidenced in the film while Costner talks to passersby on Bourbon Street like a man of the people.

So naturally, Garrison appears in the film himself as Justice Earl Warren, whose report directly and officially challenges any conspiracy theory surrounding Kennedy's death. The scene is brief, but Garrison later appears interviewing an imprisoned Jack Ruby (Brian Doyle Murray).
