18. Whedon Was Able To Make The Film Under Budget
Whedon has said that getting a big production deal from Universal Pictures was a perfect fit, as they would be able to produce something in between a blockbuster film and a television film.
However, originally, Universal had worries that they could produce it in the budget of $40 million, saying that it would cost over $100 million.
Whedon, however, using his television experience, was able to cut costs and reduce production times, and therefore, the film was made in budget. Eventually, the film only used $39 million of its $40 million budget.
