4. Dryden Vos' Facial Stripes Were Added Digitally

As much as we all love the larger-than-life visual effects which root us so firmly in the far-flung world of Star Wars, sometimes the best and most impressive effects are the "invisible" ones you don't even notice.

Case in point, though you probably assumed that Dryden Vos' facial scars were the result of painstaking practical makeup, they were actually added entirely in post.

Better still, even actor Paul Bettany himself didn't know about the scars until Ron Howard sent him a photo of the completed effect during post-production.

Given that Vos' scars would become more pronounced during intense exertion, this was presumably why the production decided to go the VFX route as opposed to traditional makeup.
