20 Things You Didn't Know About Solo: A Star Wars Story
1. A Solo Trilogy Was Originally In The Works
Before Solo bombed, there were plans for an entire trilogy of young Han Solo films, with Alden Ehrenreich and Emilia Clarke both contracted for future installments, with the opportunity to also include Han as a supporting character in other Star Wars spin-offs.
Writer Jake Kasdan stated that he wanted to include Trandoshan bounty hunter Bossk, briefly seen in The Empire Strikes Back, in a potential sequel, and considered possibly focusing on the Hutt Cartel, while Kathleen Kennedy and Donald Glover both talked-up a potential Lando spin-off.
Ultimately all of this was put on ice after Solo catastrophically underperformed, and by March 2020 Kasdan himself called Solo 2 a "tough sell" due to the first film's commercial disappointment.
Given the many interesting characters introduced in Solo - especially Qi'ra and Enfys Nest - it'd be a damn shame if they weren't put to good use in a future Disney+ Star Wars series.
