5. They Ran Out Of Money Before The Ending Was Shot

Given all the money spent on busses, explosions and crashes, it's no wonder they ran out of money. When they first started showing it to test audiences, they had yet to shoot the climactic subway showdown in its entirety, instead just showing audiences the storyboards.

But they already had them hooked, and there should be a special category at the Academy Awards for Best Storyboards – the drawings alone of what they intended to shoot left enough of an impression on audiences that it convinced the studio to pour more money into the project.
