20 Things You Didn't Know About Speed

3. It Nearly Became White Men Can't Jump II At Some Point

The surprise popularity of Woody Harrelson and Wesley Snipes in White Men Can't Jump nearly cried out for a re-teaming of the two. Hell, even the late Stanley Kubrick praised the buddy comedy.

This led to Harrelson being considered for Jack Traven briefly, but the further the dynamic between bus driver and cop went from buddy to budding romance (at one point, Halle Berry was considered to be Snipes' counterpart), it became clear the project would never come to fruition.

Until it kind of did a year after Speed's success. Harrelson and Snipes teamed up once more as two overworked NYC Transit cops who plot to rob the NYC money train in Money Train, which sadly wasn't met with the same critical or commercial success of its predecessor.
