20 Things You Didn't Know About Star Trek: First Contact

5. It Created A Fan Debate About The Enterprise-E's Deck Count

As beloved as First Contact is among fans, it did generate a fiery debate about exactly how many damn decks there are onboard the Enterprise-E.

In the movie, Picard explains to Lily Sloane (Alfre Woodard) that the ship has 24 decks, though about five minutes earlier we hear security officer Lieutenant Daniels (Michael Horton) say, "It looks like [the Borg] control decks 26 up to 11."

So, how many damn decks are there? Complicating matters even further a few years later, Star Trek: Nemesis sees both Worf (Michael Dorn) and Geordi mention the Enterprise-E having a 29th deck.

There's sadly no real canon answer to this and so fans remain engaged in spirited discourse about it to this very day. It may not matter that much, but it's still an annoying oversight for sure.
