20 Things You Didn't Know About Star Wars: Attack Of The Clones

14. Every Single Clone Trooper Was CGI

The use of CGI throughout Attack of the Clones is pervasive enough that, according to the film's animation director Rob Coleman, not a single Clone Trooper in the movie is actually a real person.

Every Clone Trooper is entirely digital, with no full practical trooper suits ever being built - instead, Industrial Light & Magic kitted out their employees with just a Clone Trooper helmet and footwear to perform motion capture for the soldiers.

Though this wasn't super obvious at the time of the film's release, it's much easier to spot on more recent, higher-fidelity releases, where the Clone Troopers have a slightly unnatural, plastic-like sheen to their outfits.

It's not a bad effort all in all, though there's no beating the tactile quality of actual, human actors in real suits.
