So far, the curse has been harmless. If, in fact, demonic forces were at work, they were certainly having fun playing with their prey, teasing them with lightning and violent animals.

While shooting, the hotel Richard Donner was staying in was bombed by members of the Irish Republican Army. He was onset on the time. This was after principal photography began. On day one of shooting, several principal members of the crew were killed in a head-on collision.

A plane that Gregory Peck had chartered to Israel, but canceled, crashed leaving no survivors.

One wonders why the studio felt the need to invent rumours surrounding the curse when so much of the production was legitimately under the threat of violence.
