20 Things You Didn't Know About The Prestige

2. It's One Of Nolan's Worst-Reviewed Films

Whenever you see a ranking of every Christopher Nolan film, it's rare for The Prestige to be outside the top three. It's regarded as one of the director's very best efforts, yet oddly, it's also one of his worst-reviewed films in terms of its Rotten Tomatoes score.

His highest-rated effort is The Dark Knight at 94%, while his lowest-rated is Interstellar, at a still very impressive 72%. And The Prestige - at 76% - is his second-lowest score. From Following to Dunkirk, everything else is in the 80% to 90% range.

Now, a lot of directors would kill for a 76% Rotten Tomatoes score and it's by no means a terrible number, but it's just interesting to note how the subjectivity of film can lead to review scores that might seem a little low.

Danny has been with WhatCulture for almost nine years, and is currently Doctor Who Editor and WhoCulture Channel Manager, overseeing all of WhatCulture's Whoniverse coverage. He has been writing and video editing for 10+ years, and first got a taste for content creation after making his own Doctor Who trailers and uploading them to YouTube (they're admittedly a bit rusty by today's standards). If you need someone to recite every Doctor Who episode in order or to tell you about the making of 1988's Remembrance of the Daleks, Danny is the person to ask.
