20 Things You Didn't Know About The Shining

13. It Was Danny Lloyd's ONLY Movie

One of the most praised parts of the movie at the time was the performance of Danny Lloyd as Jack Torrence's son. The Shining seemed to be introducing the next big breakout child star with his performance. That was, of course, not how the cards ended up falling.

Danny Lloyd would not appear in any other major film release after The Shining. His only other film appearance post this film coming out would be a low budget TV movie two years later, but after that, nothing.

Lloyd later said in an interview with the New York Daily News in 2013 that it wasn't for a lack of trying. But by the time he turned 14, he just didn't feel the same spark anymore, plus school was starting to take over his life, so he decided to call it quits. Danny Lloyd is now a pig farmer and science teacher in the American Heartland.

A shame, since he really was a great actor for his age at the time. But at least his only film appearance was one that nobody would ever forget.
