4. Rooney Mara's Character Doesn't Exist

Erica Albright is a small but important character in the film, as her break-up with Zuckerberg, sets the whole plot in motion. It's such a pivotal role and Rooney Mara is great in what little screen time she gets, it's just a shame for truth pursits that she's a completely made up character.

Zuckerberg was dating a girl at the time named Priscilla Chan and he did indeed blog about a girl named Jessica Alona, who like Albright, Zuckerberg called a: "B***h."

It's understandable from a film-making point of view, that they would merge these people together to create a more cleaner plot. The story starts and ends with Zuckerberg's and Albright's relationship status, which is pretty neat, even if it's the film's biggest factual inaccuracy.
