20 Things You Didn't Know About The Truman Show

5. The Travel Agent

The Truman Show
Paramount

In another attempt to get away, Truman visits the local travel agents to try and book a trip out of Seahaven. The room is full of unusual things that makes an already suspicious Truman even more certain that something isn't quite right.

As he waits for the agent to arrive, he sits down next to a poster that depicts a plane being struck by lightning, with the caption "It could happen to you!". The rest of the room is equally ominous, full of posters and brochures about various getaways that all involve water in some way, shape or form. There's even a barely hidden camera on top of the brochure rack.

Our attention then turns to Doris, the travel agent, who runs in looking rushed and flustered. As Truman had done his best to sneak around, the producers weren't able to anticipate his arrival and Doris wasn't camera ready before he entered the building.

As she sits down, Doris realises she is still wearing her bib, used in make-up to avoid products getting on her clothing. She quickly removes it when she realises, before doing everything she can to stop Truman booking a trip.
