20 Things You Didn't Know About The Xenomorph
17. Echolocation
According to Alien-lore, Xenomorphs do not have eyes, so there has been much speculation as to how they actually manage to hunt and locate their quarry. One theory is that they use pheromones as a means of tracking, which also allows them to differentiate between prey and their own kind. This could also explain why they do not attack hosts after they have been implanted by a Facehugger.
Another theory is that, like bats, Xenomorphs use echolocation, which would perhaps explain why they spend so much time hissing, literally bouncing sounds off walls and each other to navigate their surroundings.
