20 Things You May Have Missed In Creed
16. Everton's Contribution To The Film's Production
In addition to giving the boxing scenes extra weight to them, Tony Bellew's presence on-set came in handy when it came to securing a location for the climactic bout between Creed and Conlan.
During the early days of production, the crew traveled to Everton's Goodison Park (during a match between Everton and West Brom) in order to get crowd and stadium shots for the third act setpiece. The footage was acquired during half-time after the spectators received a video message from Sly himself asking the crowd to remain in their seats for filming to take place.
The venture was a success as the Goodison crowd was seamlessly integrated into the picture, and it ended up being a nice gesture from Stallone and Bellew (both of whom are ardent Toffees supporters).
