20 Things You Somehow Missed In Alfred Hitchcock Movies

9. Horses On Treadmills - Marnie

Even in his later movies, Hitchcock continued to experiment with new ways of fooling the camera.

In Marnie, he wanted to film real horses riding without actually having to work outside. He suggested the idea of them running on treadmills, but much of the film crew disagreed, because they considered it highly dangerous or too difficult to make it look anything like convincing.

Hitchcock tried it anyway, and it worked without a problem - and thus, the horses you see in the film are literally running on a hidden treadmill.
