Despite technically being the titular star of the movie (the word "alien" is never actually used anywhere, the creature is simply referred to as "it"), everyone's favourite rubber face-eater only manages a meager four minutes of screen-time.

This was deliberate on the part of Ridley Scott, who felt that the limited chances to see the creature would make its presence scarier for the audience. All-told, the facehugger actually receives more screen-time than the iconic movie monster that it later births.
