Here's a detail that makes all the sense in the world, and yet most of us missed it no matter how many times we see Jake entering and exiting his pod throughout the movie.

Whenever Jake is near his pod, keep an eye on the readout screen behind him and you'll see that his neural vitals are only ever scanned from the waist-up.

This tracks given that Jake is a paraplegic, and the machine either knows or has been calibrated to not bother scanning him from the waist down.

It's a totally unnecessary detail that nobody would complain about if it wasn't there - after all, Jake's legs are still a part of his anatomy - but again demonstrates the absurd meticulousness of the entire production.
