It might seem hilariously obvious now, but how many of us grew up watching this movie and drawing a parallel between 1985's alternate dystopian Biff and Donald Trump? Not many.

Yet in a 2015 interview, the film's screenwriter Bob Gale confirmed that Biff was directly inspired by Donald Trump. He said:

"We thought about it when we made the movie! Are you kidding?... You watch Part II again and there's a scene where Marty confronts Biff in his office and there's a huge portrait of Biff on the wall behind Biff, and there's one moment where Biff kind of stands up and he takes exactly the same pose as the portrait? Yeah."

Though Gale could never have anticipated the full extent of Trump's political "success" in recent years, the physical resemblance to even an 80s-era Trump speaks for itself, not to mention their shared penchant for operating hotels and casinos and, er, political corruption.

In that respect, this is a movie that's only grown more fascinatingly prescient with age.
