12. The Beach Boys Foreshadow Bubba's Dying Words
When Forrest and Bubba first meet Lt. Dan, Dan tells them, "Try not to do anything stupid, like getting yourself killed," all while The Beach Boys' song "Sloop John B" can be heard playing in the background.
Fittingly, one of the song's final lyrics is "I wanna go home," and of course, that's precisely what Bubba's final line is moments before he succumbs to his wounds during combat a little later on.
Using The Beach Boys to foreshadow a beloved character's death is quite the cruel trick indeed, Mr. Zemeckis, and we'll never forgive you for it.
