7. What Happened To Butkus?
Butkus is a bull mastiff that Rocky buys from the Tropical Fish store that Adrian works at. So, our first question has to be... why is a tropical fish store selling a large breed dog? But, that's not the biggest mystery surrounding Butkus.
You see, Rocky takes Butkus with him to visit his friend, Paulie, who works at a meatpacking plant. We see Rocky arrive at the plant with Butkus in tow. Cut to a scene inside the building sans Butkus.
Ok, not so weird, you're probably saying. Of course, the meat plant didn't allow a bull mastiff inside a building with large slabs of raw beef hanging from every rafter. And yeah, your right, but that's literally the last time we ever see Butkus. Before this, the movie goes out of its way to show us that Rocky loves Butkus. Then one trip to the slaughterhouse and - BOOM - Butkus is gone.
