20 Things You Somehow Missed In Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace
10. The Beginning Of Master Quinlan Vos
You just never know which background entity is going to eventually find themselves becoming one of the unexpected breakout stars of your blockbuster feature.
In the case of The Phantom Menace, that bizarre honour was held by a debuting Master Quinlan Vos. Or rather, the Mos Espa background extra that was simply too damn cool to ignore and wound end up acting as the inspiration for the character Quinlan Vos would ultimately become.
Seen in a fleeting shot during Jar Jar Binks and Sebulba's scrap on Tatooine, Dark Horse Comics writer John Ostrander and artist Jan Durusema took the awesome look of this dreadlocked being and used it as the foundation for Vos in their Star Wars: Republic stories.
And despite not quite making it back onto the live-action stage in Revenge of the Sith, Vos was name-dropped in the likes of Episode III and the Obi-Wan Kenobi series, along with rocking up in The Clone Wars animated show.
