Once again tipping his cap to the film that kicked off the biggest franchise on the planet via the words that tumbled out of Threepio's gob, J. J. Abrams also had the protocol droid sneak in a reference to the amount of time that had passed since that first-ever Skywalker Saga adventure.
When Poe Dameron, Finn, Chewbacca, Rey, BB-8, and Threepio arrive on Pasaana to continue Luke Skywalker's search for Exegol, the iconic droid was quick to let the gang know that they had landed in the middle of the Aki-Aki Festival of the Ancestors.
