While there was certainly a decent amount of outstanding practical effects visible in J. J. Abrams second sequel trilogy flick, one particular moment involving the woman who murdered her evil grandfather on Exegol leaving that planet actually boasted far more CGI than you likely noticed.

As revealed in ILM's fascinating behind the scenes look at some of the magnificent digital effects used in Episode IX, Daisy Ridley surprisingly didn't have to spend a bit of time in the make-up chair having dirt applied to her face and costume or look through a visor whilst filming her battleground exit.

All of these elements were actually entirely digital, and impressively layered on top of her performance after she'd shot the cockpit moment.
