20 Things You Somehow Missed In Super Mario Bros: The Movie

17. Dan Castellaneta Voices The Narrator

Super Mario Bros
Buena Vista Pictures

The movie opens with a brief voiceover narration which explains that the meteorite which apparently extinguished the dinosaurs also created a parallel dimension.

Some of the dinosaurs managed to cross over into this dimension, and over the course of 65 million years, inexplicably evolved into a humanoid race and eventually founded the city of Dinohattan, because why the hell not?

Pay close attention to the voice narrating the prologue, though - does it sound familiar? It should, because it's none other than Dan Castellaneta, who of course voices Homer Simpson in The Simpsons.

Granted, Castellaneta is narrating with his regular speaking voice here, so you can't be blamed too much for failing to spot his vocal cameo.
