20 Things You Somehow Missed In The Lost World: Jurassic Park

12. Getting Away From Godzilla

Spielberg may have turned the Tyrannosaurus Rex into an out-and-out movie star overnight, but the crown of undisputed king of the gigantic scaly titans will always belong to a certain Godzilla.

Yet, in a rather knowing nod to this reality, the director opted to lace a cheeky salute to the iconic kaiju during The Lost World's San Diego sacking as his towering T-Rex is unleashed on a terrified public.

In a beat that many were able to spot out of the gates, a group of Japanese business men are seen fleeing the male monster heading their way, a clear hint at Godzilla's Japanese roots. However, some were too wrapped up in the on-screen chaos to clock the words "I left Japan to get away from this!" being exclaimed by one particularly spooked gent in Japanese as he quickly darts into the distance.

Some folks just can't catch a break, and it appears this dude's Godzilla troubles just wouldn't go away.
