4. A Nod To Dr. Strangelove

Deep into the third act when Rick blows up a tree, in turn causing a group of pygmy mummies to fall into the ravine below, keep a close eye on one of the scary fellas who was standing on the tree when it explodes.

As the tree tumbles down the ravine, we can just barely see one pygmy sitting astride the tree's remnants, effectively "riding" it all the way down. 

This is almost certainly a nod to the iconic scene from Stanley Kubrick's Dr. Strangelove, where Major Kong (Slim Pickens) similarly rides a nuclear bomb down to the ground in the film's closing moments.
