Here's one you'll kick yourself for not spotting sooner. In both of the first two Mummy movies, we see Imhotep's lover Anck-su-namun wearing distinctive body paint, which forms a memorable pattern down her arms.

And the outfit worn by her physical reincarnation, Meela Nais, is a direct reflection of this, with the chic black get-up she wears throughout the movie bearing the very same ladder-like pattern running down its arm.

It might not really make a lick of sense within the context of the film itself, but it is a fun flourish of costume design all the same.
