Another hint lying in plain sight now. At the end of the movie as Verbal is being released after posting bail, his possessions are given back to him, including a gold watch, a gold cigarette lighter, and a pack of cigarettes.

Well, for anyone paying close attention to the start of the movie, you'll notice that Keyser Söze can be seen sporting all three of these items on his person.

Even discounting the cigarette, there aren't too many people who would have both a gold watch and a gold lighter. Busted.
