Surely the movie's most memorable quote sees Kint tell Kujan, "The greatest trick the Devil ever pulled was convincing the world he didn't exist."

It's the sort of genius line every screenwriter wishes they could've come up with, but in actual fact, Christopher McQuarrie paraphrased the quote from legendary philosopher Charles Baudelaire.

Baudelaire's 1864 short story "The Generous Gambler" included the delicious line, "The Devil's deepest wile is to persuade us that he does not exist."

McQuarrie, evidently a bit of a reader, repurposed the quote and in turn gave Kevin Spacey one of the most iconic lines of movie dialogue ever spoken.
