15. The Drugs Are Actually Vitamin B Tablets

When characters are snorting cocaine in a movie, the actors are usually ingesting a combination of powdered milk and baking soda. Because this concoction doesn't look convincing up close, films like Scarface tend to only show the "drug" from a distance.

But since Martin Scorsese wanted to use as many close-ups of cocaine as possible in The Wolf of Wall Street, he had to find a different material to substitute for it. In the end, he opted to use Inositol; a sugar vitamin that can be found in mammal's kidneys and brains (including humans).

However, that's not suggesting Inositol has no effect when ingested. The actors noticed they did receive a kick when they snorted it (although they didn't receive a reaction on the same level as cocaine).
