People like to write V For Vendetta off, as though it was a failure of an adaptation in the same sense that, say, Zack Snyder's Watchmen was. And yet this is a hugely underrated movie by most standards - one which was met with only a lukewarm reception from the critics, and seems to have been forgotten by everyone else who isn't an IMDb user. Because it's right there in the Top 250, considered among some of the best films ever made. Starring Natalie Portman as our protagonist, Evie, and featuring Hugo Weaving as the titular V, this adaptation of the famed graphic novel by Alan Moore is rendered brilliantly on screen by the Wachowski siblings, also renowned for their work on The Matrix movies. Presumably most people saw this once and failed to notice how dense and well-plotted it is, even with the changes made from the comic book. Trust us: give it another shot.
