20 Upcoming Netflix Originals You NEED To Know About
9. Wendell & Wild
Guillermo del Toro isn't the only legendary filmmaker bringing stop-motion animation to Netflix this year - the fantastic Henry Selick (The Nightmare Before Christmas) is currently hard at work on his horror-comedy Wendell and Wild.
Perhaps the most exciting part of the whole package is that Selick has co-written the script with Jordan Peele and Keegan-Michael Key, who also co-star as the title characters: two scheming demonic brothers who end up facing off against a nun keen to wipe them out once and for all.
Given the mighty creative pairing of Selick, Peele, and Key, it's easy to imagine this being a strong contender for 2023's Best Animated Film Oscar, right alongside del Toro's Pinocchio - if the Academy can stomach two competing stop-motion movies, that is.
