A movie doesn't have to be good or memorable in any way to be brought home with a devastating finish that will stick with audiences well past the point of leaving the cinema. In fact, in this case, it helped.

In one of the few other roles he played during his four years as Edward Cullen in Twilight, Robert Pattinson played Tyler Hawkins in Allen Coulter's Remember Me. An ironic title, as the only thing genuinely memorable about the film was the ending, which had absolutely nothing to do with the rest of the story.

Based in New York City, Tyler learned a lesson throughout, with a handy voiceover at the end, that nothing anyone does in the world will ultimately matter, but you should do it anyway. Potentially thought-provoking, but it ultimately fell flat and was overshadowed by the insane ending around it.

After having literally nothing to do with the horrific events of September 2001, the final moments of the film revealed they took place on 9/11, and that Tyler, standing in the North Tower of the World Trade Centre, was killed. Needless to say, this is all it is remembered for today.
