20 Weird and Wonderful Performances As The Devil

20. Tim Curry - Legend (1985)

Tim Curry (Clue, Rocky Horror Picture Show) plays a demon named Darkness who bears a striking resemblance to Satan in his most monstrous form. Darkness is a demon who seeks to create - what else? - eternal night by killing off the last of the unicorns and marrying a fairy princess (Mia Sara). Darkness is opposed by Jack (Tom Cruise), who obviously ends up victorious since our world doesn't bear the slightest resemblance to Lower Uncton (that's a Married With Children joke for those of you who are confused). Weird or Wonderful? - Definitely wonderful. Tim Curry's portrayal of Darkness is the stuff of nightmares.

19. Terrence Stamp - The Company of Wolves (1984)

Terrence Stamp's appearance as Lucifer in The Company of Wolves is brief but memorable. Riding around in a limo, holding a skull, and distributing potions; he's only on screen for a few seconds. Yet his all-too-brief role is the image I remember most from this film. On a side note, Stamp has played the Devil (in this film), God (maybe - in Teorema), and the human plagued by Satan (see #11 in this article). Weird or Wonderful? - Wonderful. If you're in a film for just a few seconds and everyone remembers your appearance, you've done a wonderful job. Of course, what else do we expect from Stamp?.
