20 Weird and Wonderful Performances As The Devil

14. Victor Buono - The Evil (1978)

Unfortunately I can't recommend anyone watching this movie. Don't get me wrong, you won't take a fork and poke your eyes out for having the stupidity to watch it, but you WILL have a hard time suspending your disbelief enough to watch this film. The only recommendation I can make is to watch it for Victor Buono's portrayal of Satan. Buono obviously had fun in this role. The veteran, and ill-fated, character actor played Beelzebub with a gleeful quality that made it seem as if you can have a good time in Hell - as long as you have an evil streak, of course.Weird or Wonderful? - Definitely wonderful. Buono stole every scene he was in. I wish he was still alive and making movies.

13. Viggo Mortensen - The Prophecy (1994)

The Prophecy is a very underrated thriller with a pretty good cast and a unique story line. Viggo Mortensen (Lord of the Rings) plays a surrealistic Lucifer, hissing out his lines as if he truly was the Devil. Christopher Walken plays the Archangel Gabriel in a strange plot twist that leaves you hoping Lucifer wins. Weird or Wonderful? - Wonderful. Mortensen's Lucifer is how I've always pictured Satan behaving.
