Not all wrestlers are Dwayne Johnson. Not all are destined for success on the big screen.

WWE star Ronda Rousey, as anyone who saw Furious 7 will know, cannot act. She can do fight scenes and silent menace just fine, but her line delivery is laughable beyond measure.

Luckily, in Furious 7 she was mostly silent and barely appeared, but in Mile 22 she's one of the main characters and has plenty of dialogue... and it's awful. Every scene with her in it is impossible to take seriously thanks to her robotic, one-expression acting and she almost sinks the entire film. When her character is killed off nearly an hour in, despite her being one of the good guys it's a relief.

The critical mauling Mile 22 got was very odd since Mile 22 is honestly not that bad and is arguably a three-star film thanks to a reasonably engaging plot and plenty of brutally enjoyable (if poorly edited) action sequences, but to be fair to critics Rousey no doubt made it far less enjoyable for them.
