13. Survivor

Rotten Tomatoes: 8% It's almost perverse to think that James McTeigue would be capable of making both V For Vendetta - that whip-smart, viper-tongued gem - and this doddering middle aged cry for help. Marketed as a sort of anti-James Bond - with Pierce Brosnan playing a joyless assassin with a cool name but a complete lack of personality - Survivor is a mess of convoluted plot and ridiculous contrivances that tumble towards a painfully obvious end. You can tell there is an agenda here to be an intelligent, subtle thriller, but it's literally none of those things, and it plays like a half-baked attempt at reminding everyone that the Bourne films were once a good thing to rip off. Boring would be an understatement. And as a final insult, the DVD cover and poster appear to show Brosnan caught in the middle of pulling some sort of duck-face selfie pout...
