Not even Cosmic Sin is quite as uniformly atrocious as Vanquish, which stars Ruby Rose as a mother whose daughter is kidnapped, forcing her back into her criminal past.

Beyond the generic plot and script, Vanquish is a technically vile mess of a movie memorable only for the fact that Morgan Freeman plays its Machiavellian villain.

But even Freeman is only doing the bare minimum to fulfil his contractual obligations, spending almost his entire role sat down - conveniently, his character is wheelchair-bound - in a single room.

Even for the subterranean standards of D-list thrillers, this is an embarrassingly produced effort that makes even many of the other similar efforts on this list seem competent by comparison.

It'll take something mighty awful to steal the #1 spot from it in the second half of the year, that's for sure.
