20 Worst Netflix Original Movies EVER

6. Diana: The Musical

No other movie on this list has proven infamous enough to instigate hate-watch parties among audiences, such is the depravity of the dreadfully misguided Diana: The Musical.

A live performance of the musical, based on the life of Diana, Princess of Wales, was filmed in 2020 during a period of the pandemic where theaters were closed, and released on Netflix the next year.

The end result won five Razzie awards, including Worst Picture, and stands as one of the most embarrassing Broadway productions in recent memory, if not ever.

A tacky and exploitative attempt to turn Diana's life and times into a peppy musical, it falls spectacularly flat because it takes itself so damn seriously and hasn't got a single satirical or self-aware bone in its body.

The cast certainly tries their damnedest to sell the material, but this is mesmerisingly awful and tasteless from concept through to execution. Nobody could call it boring, though.
