One of the most vocal complaints about Rogue Nation is its rather disappointing third act. It begins with Hunt and co. trying to intercept the Prime Minister so that they can unlock a digital locked box, which they can then use to lure out Lane with the promise of money. Benji also gets taken hostage with a pressure-sensitive bomb which has to be de-activated, and that's before the presumed showdown between Lane and Hunt. In effect, though, there's not much of a scrap between the two, and it ends rather abruptly when Hunt lures Lane into a glass box (like one that Hunt was trapped in near the start of the movie), gassing Lane and taking him away into presumably police custody. It just caps that Lane was a pretty lame villain, and reinforces reports that Paramount were struggling with the movie's third act, even going back for reshoots in February. Even so, this is the best that they could come up with? Have you seen Mission: Impossible - Rogue Nation yet? What did you think? Shout it out in the comments!
