2012: The Year Of The Superhero Video
2013 is well underway, but we thought wed permit ourselves one final look at what has been a brilliant 12 months of cinema. It was of course a particularly successful year for comic book movies; The Avengers and The Dark Knight Rises were easily the biggest films of the past year, bringing in a healthy box office return of $1.5 billion and $1.08 billion respectively.
The two aforementioned blockbuster behemoths werent the only entertaining superhero movies of 2012; both The Amazing Spider-Man and Dredd successfully embodied their comic book counterparts, and all these films were packed with some great moments that had many a fanboy or just me returning to our respective multiplexes for repeat viewings. From Hulk punching Thor, to Spider-Man battling the Lizard, and Batmans fights with Bane, weve compiled some of them into a short and sweet two minute montage.
With no fewer than four comic book movies heading our way this year in the form of Iron Man 3, The Wolverine, Thor: The Dark World, and of course Man of Steel, both anticipation and expectation are high for what looks set to be another great year for superhero fans.
